Our October program will be “The Strategic Role of HR in Today’s Organizations” presented by Judi Harris of The Cirrus Business Group. Human Resources plays a vital role in today’s organizations ensuring compliance with labor laws, keeping up with union relations, overseeing employee benefits and ensuring required training and education is accomplished and recorded.  In today’s organizational environments there is a need for the HR Department to take on a more strategic role.  Talent development and management through assessments and training is vital to the on-going and future leadership of every organization. The HR department needs to become the extension of the CEO to create alignment of the organization and employee engagement.  With this more strategic role the core values of the organization can be clearly communicated to all levels of the organization. Subsequently this will reduce turnover, increase productivity and increase the ROI of the company.  Coach Judi will be addressing these issues and more in a look at the Strategic Role of HR in today’s organizations.

Judi Harris has always been a coach and leader. Judi spent the first 30 years of her career in the healthcare industry. She was placed in a leadership position very early on and continued through her years in upper level management and training. In 2001, she decided to take her talents to an expanded audience as a freelance trainer and coach. Her contracts have included leadership training in a nursing home through a national training and productivity company, leadership training with a second national training company, United Way, and more in addition to the private clients who have benefited greatly from her one-on-one coaching.

Judy completed her MBA with Nova Southeastern University in 1994. She formalized her education as a coach with Coach University, graduating in December of 1999. She has learned a variety of techniques to be a catalyst in the lives of others including the transforming work of Martin Sage, the powerful leadership and communications work of Dr. Henry (Dick) Thompson and High Performing Systems, and has in her tool bag some powerful life changing technologies of Vision Force Academy and the work of Michael Skye.
