  • Em's Kitchen at Hawthorne Drugs back room:   975 Hawthorne Ave Ste B, Athens, GA 30606
  • Online (Zoom) and in person meeting - you must select your attendance location when registering. Zoom information will be provided to registrants on the Wednesday prior to the chapter meeting.  Please be encouraged to join us in person if possible.
  • Lunch menu:  Em's Kitchen Lunch orders
  • After registering, please click on the link under Events for Em's Kitchen Lunch orders to order and pay for your lunch online prior to noon on Tuesday before the chapter meeting.
  • If you miss the deadline to order lunch, on the chapter date you may order online directly with Em's Kitchen at:  Em's Kitchen Online Order .  Please select that it should be ready at 11:30AM and write SHRM Chapter Meeting in the comments section.

The purpose of the Athens Area Chapter of SHRM is to provide a forum for the professional development of our membership:

  • To raise the standards of performance in all phases of human resource management.

  • To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among the membership relative to every phase of human resource management:
    • Management Practices
    • Health; Safety and Security
    • Training and Development
    • Compensation and Benefits
    • Employee and Labor Relations
    • Selection and Placement
  • To promote adherence to the Chapter’s Code of Professional Responsibility among our members.
  • To provide a focus for legislative attention to state and national human resource management issues.
  • To support the purposes of SHRM, which are to promote the use of sound and ethical human resource management practices in the profession.
