Our Athens Area SHRM Chapter will be meeting Tuesday, April 10 , 2012 at the Georgia Center.  Networking will begin at 5:30pm followed by dinner and presentation.

Please register by April  5, 2011 so that we can have an accurate count of attendees.

For our April 2012 meeting, Steven Gower, CSP will be speaking to our chapter about the power of perception over reality in human resources. This presentation enables participants to discover afresh that there is much more to integrity or lack of integrity within relationships than a paradigm that merely equals the sum of attitude and behavior. What ultimately informs relationships and effective productivity is not the reality of what two people think and do but the perception two people each have about the attitude and behavior of the other. There can be tremendous difference between what one actually feels and does and what another perceives him to feel and do.

Participants will discover that their attitudes and actions do not automatically flow untarnished to team member. Perception gets in the way due to their layers of thatch or history!

Human Resource Organizations across the globe have benefited from Stephen Gower. As a Perception Professional, Stephen has worked with human resource organizations who want a fresh approach to leading change and with human resource professionals who want to focus on soaring. Stephen has presented for seven National SHRM Annual Conferences, as well as for the Turkey Human Resource Conference and the Arabian Human Resource Conference. He has presented for thirty State HR Conferences. He is the best selling author of twenty-one books and holds the highest earned designation possible from the National Speakers Association. Mr. Gower has given more than 5,000 presentations. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and a master’s degree from Emory University.
