Our Athens Area SHRM Chapter will be meeting Tuesday, October 11 , 2011 at the Georgia Center.  Networking will begin at 5:30pm followed by dinner and presentation.

Harsharn Makkar will be speaking to our chapter about  I-9 compliance, common mistakes, etc and how the new immigration legislation is affecting the hiring and on-boarding process and how to do it correctly. 

This is an important topic with the new E-Verify requirements coming into play soon.

Ms. Makkar practices Corporate Law, International Business Transactions, and Immigration Law with a focus on business organizations (incorporation) issues. Her legal advice is based on what is practical, acceptable, and legal for a small business since she herself was an entrepreneur.
