Educators are a vital link between our workplaces and the community. Laura Boswell, JCCS will connect the classroom to the workplace. Mrs. Boswell will educate us about Work Base learning, Educator Externships, Career Academy and Empower C3 and how our organizations can connect.

Work Base Learning offers students insight into careers while still in high school and receive high school credit.

Teacher Externships offer a unique professional development opportunity connecting the classroom to the workplace. They provide an experience in which teachers spend time in a workplace to learn through direct experience about trends, skill requirements and opportunities in industries related to their subject in order to enrich and strengthen their teaching and bring relevance to student learning.

The vision of Empower C3 is to prepare all students for success by providing personalized pathways to higher education and career opportunities.

All of these aid in turn-over, job preparedness, strategic plans, succession planning and skilled labor.

My educational goal is to complete a doctoral program and teach full-time at the college level.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I believe that as a teacher I am morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of my students. Thus, I maximize the positive benefits that naturally come along with any self-fulfilling prophecy; with dedication, perseverance, and hard work, my students will rise to the occasion. I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well.
