Margaret Phillips, Operator of Chick-fil-A at Commerce, has many years with her beloved company and employs approximately 32 employees.
Margaret will share how to build a strong team and help to develop them professionally.
Her first real job (after years of babysitting) brought her to Chick-fil-A in 1975 in a shop in North DeKalb Mall. She was 16 years old and delighted to make more than 5 times her hourly wage as a babysitter. It's the only job she has ever had. She was the first single female operator hired by Chick-fil-A in 1982 to serve the Volusia Mall restaurant in Daytona Beach, FL.
“I look at it as a great opportunity,” said Margaret Phillips, who nearly 30 years ago scraped together $5,000 to take over her first Chick-fil-A store. “They have shown us a lot of grace and love over the years”.
Her proudest moments have always come from helping others. While working at Chick-fil-A she has saved the lives of two unborn babies, used the Heimlich maneuver successfully on two occasions, and loves the hobby of studying , observing and learning from other people.
Margaret's hometown is Duluth, MN. She is mom to Caitlin and Christopher the joys of her life. She is also a proud graduate of UGA with a BBA, majoring in business management. Go Dawgs! She lives by the belief that every day is a blessing filled with opportunities to impact and influence others.
