Topic: Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program

This program was created to provide requisitioning service members with the skills needed to succeed in the civilian workforce. Service members participate during the last 6 months of military service, which helps bridge the gap between their military service and civilian careers, and helps employers gain access to a natural recruiting pipeline of military talent.

Speaker:  JOHN W. PHILLIPS is the Program Manager for the Hiring Our Heroes Atlanta Corporate Fellowship Program, Co-Founder and Vice President of VETLANTA and the Executive Director of Boots to Loafers, LLC. He has had a distinguished career in both military and civilian service. John is a “mustang” and retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel where he served in the Field Artillery as well as an Army Comptroller. With more than 20 years of service, he served in Corps and Division Artillery, Army Headquarters and Forces Command. He has lived and served in Europe, throughout the Middle East and the United States. In his civilian career, John is a retired finance executive at The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia.

John is also the Author of Boots to Loafers, Finding Your New True North which outlines a proven process of transitioning out of the military and into the private sector. He is also a contributing author to Paddling Guide to the Sunshine State and An American Crisis, Veteran Unemployment; Stand by Them/How You can Help/Solution. He has been featured on The Mike Huckabee Show, the Dennis Miller Show as well as a number of radio shows across the country. John holds a BS in Finance from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from Syracuse University where he is also alumni of the 39th Class of Army Comptrollership Program.
