Topic:    HR Legal Pitfalls

This program will focus on two topics:

  • We will examine strategic decisions required by the anticipated final regulations imposing a higher salary threshold for exempt status under the FLSA.  We’ll compare this change to past regulatory changes to highlight the new approach required by the DOL’s expected standard, and identify and evaluate the options for employers to work with currently exempt employees who are close to the threshold.
  • In light of increasing legal claims based on failure to hire and the fact that most employers are hiring more these days, we will also consider hiring and onboarding best practices and how to begin instilling your organization’s culture with the newest employees.
