Learn everything you need to know on how unemployment claims are process and how determinations are made.

Networking will begin at 5:30pm followed promptly by dinner at 6:00 pm and then our program.

 Speaker Bio - Lori Chafin

Lori has enjoyed a career with the Georgia Department of Labor since 1991. She began with the agency as an Employment Interviewer working one on one with customers seeking assistance in filing for Unemployment Benefits and securing employment. She has worked closely with many State and Federal programs such as the ReEmployment Act, GeorgiaWorks, Extended Unemployment Benefits, State Extended Unemployment Benefits, and the Trade Readjustment Act and Trade Assistance Act both under NAFTA.During her career with the Department Labor, Ms. Chafin has served as an Unemployment Insurance Claims Examiner and an Unemployment Claims Supervisor.

For the past four years, she has been a Career Center manager and is currently in the Athens Career Center.
