Our Athens Area SHRM Chapter will be meeting Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Georgia Center. Networking will begin at 5:30pm followed by dinner and presentation.
Tanya Williams is a Senior Wage & Hour Compliance Specialist (Investigator) with the US Department of Labor, Wage & Hour Division. Her career has consisted of 20+ years of Federal Government Service. She will be discussing the Fair Labor Standards Act with our chapter.
She has successfully conducted hundreds of investigations and participated in multiple outreach presentations and events on the East and West Coast. She is a subject matter expert in multiple federal laws administered and enforced by the Wage and Hour Division which include:
(a) The Fair Labor Standards Act; (b) The Family and Medical Leave Act; (c) The Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act; (d) The field sanitation standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Act; (e) The Employee Polygraph Protection Act; (f) The Immigration and Nationality Act; (g) The Davis-Bacon and related Acts; (h) The McNamara-O’Hare Service Contract Act; (i) Garnishment provisions of the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
